About  Austin Reaves

Born in Newark, Arkansas, Austin Reaves has risen from small-town beginnings to the bright lights of Los Angeles, becoming one of the NBA’s most inspiring success stories. Known for his versatile scoring, poise under pressure, and underdog mentality, Reaves has carved out his place as a key contributor for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Reaves’ journey began at Cedar Ridge High School, where his passion for the game quickly translated into dominance. He led his team to back-to-back state championships, earning MVP honors after averaging an astonishing 43.3 points per game in the state tournament.

He went on to play two seasons at Wichita State, before transferring to the University of Oklahoma, where he blossomed into one of the most complete guards in college basketball. As a senior, Reaves earned First Team All-Big 12 honors while leading the Sooners in scoring, rebounds, and assists.

After going undrafted in 2021, Reaves signed with the Los Angeles Lakers, quickly proving he belonged among basketball’s elite. His clutch shooting, court vision, and relentless work ethic have made him a fan favorite and a vital part of the Lakers’ rotation.

Both humble and hungry, Reaves plays the game with a blend of confidence and grit that reflects his journey from the heart of Arkansas to the heart of the NBA.
