HIGHLIGHTS

We know that this is the time of year when winter can feel like it’s dragging. So, we thought, what better way to combat the winter blues than with a little sunshine from the Aloha state?

We know what you’re thinking, lucky us, we got to escape to the Hawaiian sun, but let us assure you, this was not all fun and games—this was a work trip to photograph and showcase our new collection against the backdrop of paradise. Though, we must admit…there were definitely a few fun and games along the way. (Promise we thought of you the entire time.)

First tip about traveling to Hawaii: Stay somewhere that has a pina colada machine. The Westin Maui Resort and Spa Ka’anapali fits the bill. Not only did they have our favorite vacation beverage on tap, the hotel was so modern and cool we couldn’t resist shooting polos, shorts, and shirts from our latest collection there. The Westin even hooked it up with access to the Penthouse and Lanai suites to take photos against the sweeping views that surround the property.

From there, we shot at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort and Hotel Wailea. Both beautiful properties, the Andaz was nestled right on the ocean and proved to be a great place to shoot our highly anticipated boardshort collection, while Hotel Wailea delivered a spectacular view of the ocean and surrounding islands.

The next day, we set out to explore the area and decided to shoot in Paia on the grounds of Mama’s Fish House and a little coffee shop called Surf Club. Both were delicious, as were the shots we got in our Life of the Party collection—a line that features patterns and prints inspired by the tropics.

Later, we drove to Honolua Bay and got some amazing shots along lush jungle trails that led to a scenic viewpoint overlooking the entire bay. Who knew water could be so clear and so blue? We decided we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to snag a few more shots of our men’s shorts, boardshorts, t-shirts, and of course The Daily shoe in such an iconic location.

To close out the trip, we headed out on a sunset boat cruise of the Lahaina Harbor. You’ll definitely be seeing photos of this little excursion soon! It was so epic that we showcased key items of our new collection in all the photographs.
